Israel 2007 Pics

Did you guess what this object is? If you can believe it, this is a 2700 year-old Assyrian arrowhead that was used in the seige of the ancient city of Zur, the capital of the Geshurite Kingdom. The arrowhead was found by Gale's group at the dig at Bethsaida, Israel.
What is religious studies major Freya Swanson (pictured above) up to? Actually, she is holding an ancient Assyrian projectile that was found by the WVU group near the outer city walls of the ancient city of Zur. It was probably shot at the city gate during an assault.

Pictured above is the main building at the ancient stone city of Petra. Gale's group visited the site in modern-day Jordan during their visit to Israel.
As you can see, it can get dusty while digging in the sand in Israel, as Lexie Reed and Julie Macklin (seated front, L to R) found out. The "masked bandit" in front is unnamed.

Members of the WVU group worked restoring this ancient road that led to the city of Bethsaida..
