What is it?
Movember (the month formerly known as November) is a moustache growing charity event held during November each year that raises funds and awareness for cancers that affect men.
At the start of Movember guys register with a clean shaven face. The Movember participants, known as Mo Bros, have the remainder of the month to grow and groom their Mo, raising money along the way for cancers that affect men - specifically prostate and testicular cancer.
Where does the money go?
The money raised goes to the Movember Foundation (Tax ID: 77-0714052) which is a not for profit organization that runs the Movember event each year. At the end of each campaign the funds are donated evenly to our two outstanding beneficiary partners: the Prostate Cancer Foundation and the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
How can women get involved?
- Registering online, recruiting a team of guys and raising money
- Organizing events like Mo Parties
- Making a donation to a Mo Bro
- Becoming a Mo Sista by joining our team
MOuntaineers Team
WVU Snowboarding Club is partaking in this year's Movember by running Team MOuntaineers and trying to raise $5,000 for the Prostate Cancer Foundation and the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
