The West Virginia University Staff Council was created to provide the classified staff employees of West Virginia University a means of conveying their concerns on employee-employer relations.  This council was formed with recognition that all matters at West Virginia University are governed by state law, by the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission, and West Virginia University policies and procedures.

Staff Council office is  in Room 1007 of One Waterfront Place on the Downtown Campus of West Virginia University.  Office hours are 9-12:00 & 1:30-3:30 p.m. Monday - Thursday.


Staff Council plans 2009 election

It's time to select classified staff representatives for the next two years. Nominations will begin on Monday, March 2, 2009 and end at close of business on Friday, March 13, 2009. Nominations are now being accepted for the following leadership positions:
  • WVU Board of Governors Staff Representative
  • WVU's Representative to the Advisory Council of Classified Employees (A.C.C.E.)
  • Staff Council Chair
  • Staff Council Representatives from the following sectors. Each sector can be represented by five (5) classified employees.
    • Administrative/Managerial
    • Professional/Non-teaching
    • Paraprofessional/Technician
    • Clerical/Secretarial
    • Physical Plant/Maintenance/Service
Those interested in running for any of these positions may nominate themselves or any other non-probationary classified staff member. Nominations should be made using the Staff Representative Nomination Form. All nomination forms need to be returned by close of business on March 13, 2009 to the Division of Human Resources, One Waterfront Place, PO Box 6640, Morgantown, WV 26506.

Eligible classified employees at Potomac State College of WVU and West Virginia University Institute of Technology will be able to nominate and vote only for the Board of Governors representative.
