Fall Conference 2009

What a great time is was this year on the beautiful campus of West Virginia State University! Thanks to all for a really great conference.

The weather cooperated with us on Sunday we had 41 of 47 golfers show up to play. What a nice course it was wet, but still a great time for members and venders. The lunch after was very good plenty to eat and lots of gifts for all.

Sunday night's banquet was outstanding. President Carter welcomed us and gave us a little history about the University and their goals. This was followed by the Vice President, Dr. Whyte. Her love of the Campus was obvious to all that listened to her. The meal was superb with plenty for all--a real 4-star event to say the least. The meal was followed by a evening of great singing started by One Accord, some of the best Gospel singing that I ever heard--the harmonies put goose bumps on my arms. The second group was a barber shop Quartet call the Kanawha Kordsmen. They had just come back from competing with other groups. Again, they too were superb.

Monday’s tour of some of the research that WVSU is doing with plants was awesome and so very interesting. We then went to Booker T Washington’s home and the Governor was on his way to dedicate a stone carving of Booker in the park. We left while we could there was a very big crowd waiting for the program to start.

The afternoon sessions on green cleaning were very interesting and helpful. The new green products that are out now are amazing. A lot of good info was exchanged and I for one learned a lot. Really worth going to.

If you never been to the Fall Conference I hope next year you will find the time what a great time to visit other schools and see how they do things on their Campus.
