You're admitted. Follow these steps to become a Mountaineer - and celebrate with confetti!

1. Log in to WVU Portal

The WVU Portal is your gateway to online resources at WVU, including many required to complete your enrollment steps.

4. Submit the FAFSA

We encourage all students to fill out the FAFSA as soon as possible. Use our school code 003827 and submit the FAFSA prior to our March 1 priority deadline. The FAFSA is required for Federal and State aid programs, and to qualify for the Promise scholarship for West Virginia residents.

Submit the FAFSA

5. Accept or Decline Aid

Scholarship and financial aid offers usually begin around mid-December for first-time freshmen starting in the fall semester. You can review, accept or decline aid through the WVU Portal if you receive an offer, or revisit if aid is adjusted. Acceptance of scholarships and aid is non-binding – you forfeit your award if you cancel your application or attendance.

6. Complete New Student Orientation

NSO registration for fall 2023 admits opens in February. Spring 2023 admits will be able to register for NSO in late fall. You must pay your academic deposit before registering. NSO program details will be available when registration opens.

7. Choose a Dining Plan

Everyone living in campus housing is required to purchase an on-campus student dining plan. Commuters have the option of purchasing an off-campus student plan. Dining plans for the 2023-24 academic year will be available by June.

Reminder: You need to complete your housing application before choosing a dining plan.
