Thanks for applying! You can use your WVU Gateway to track your admissions status and which documents we have received or are outstanding.

How did you apply?

WVU Application

If you submitted the WVU application, you already have access to your WVU Gateway.

Log back in with the username and password you created when submitting your application.

Common Application

If you submitted the Common Application, you need to create an account to gain access to your application information. You should have received an email with specific instructions on how to create your WVU Gateway. If you do not have this email please contact wvuadmissions@mail.wvu.edu.

Frequently Asked Questions

How soon will missing documents or an admissions decision show on the dashboard?

After submitting the application, your WVU Gateway checklist will reflect missing documents or documents received. Once your application is complete, it will take an additional 10 days to receive an admissions decision.

How will I learn of my admissions decision?

You will receive an email directing you to the WVU Gateway to retrieve your decision. A decision letter and admissions packet will follow approximately 3 weeks after the email.

How long will it take for Admissions to receive my high school transcript?

2-3 weeks to receive and process official documents. We strongly encourage using electronic submission when available or emailing to scanning@mail.wvu.edu. Learn how to submit transcripts.

Will WVU accept self-reported test scores with the Common Application?
