College should be the best years of your life, not the most expensive. We have the perks and programs of a major research university at a price within reach.

More Ways to Save at WVU

Sources outside WVU, such as federal and state programs, can help fund your education.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid

The FAFSA is available to all students. WVU’s priority deadline for the FAFSA is March 1, and our FAFSA code is 003827.

Loans

You and your parents can borrow up to the full amount of your estimated Cost of Attendance (or budget) each academic year. Unlike scholarships, all loans must be repaid, usually with interest.

Grants

Federal and state grant programs can help pay your college costs. Grants are typically need-based and are not required to be paid back.

Student Employment

Earn spending money and valuable experience for your resume. We’ll help you find a job on campus or off campus.

WVU Guarantee

WVU Guarantee is open to undergraduate students across the WVU System who are West Virginia residents, have a family adjusted gross income of $65,000 or less, and annually complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

WVU Guarantee is a last-dollar-in program, meaning the dollar amount will be determined by how much the student owes for University Tuition, University Fees, and College Tuition after scholarships and grants.

Reduced Tuition Benefits

Do you live in Ohio or Washington, D.C., or study at Garrett College in Maryland? You may be eligible for reduced tuition.
