Change of Major

Eligibility

• Admitted students: Submit a Change of Major Request in WVU Gateway (top right corner of the homepage).
• Currently enrolled students: Meet with your academic adviser.
• Before you submit, review the admissions requirements for your new major. Your request will not be processed if you’re ineligible.

Important Notes

• Conditionally admitted students are not eligible to change their major.
• If requesting a change between WVU Online and on-campus programs, contact your WVU Admissions Counselor before submitting.
• Major changes may affect merit scholarships.
• Submit your request at least 1 week before New Student Orientation or your academic advising appointment.
