Test Scores

WVU accepts electronic score delivery for SAT, ACT, TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, and Duolingo. WVU also accepts scores from these exams that we can verify directly through the testing agency.

Intensive English Program (IEP) Applicants

If you are applying to a degree program through the IEP, submit the documents required for your student type. If you are applying directly to the IEP without a degree program, you must provide proof that you completed secondary school.

After You’re Admitted

If you submitted unofficial documents during your application review, you must provide official copies before you can enroll. You can mail them to the address above or bring them with you when you arrive on campus.

  • You are required to send transcripts from all institutions you attended.
  • No documents are returned to applicants.
  • It is important that you use the same name and spelling of your name on all documents, scores, and forms. Your name on your WVU record needs to match your name on your passport.
  • If your documents are not in English, you must provide an English translation.
  • You may provide a World Education Services evaluation, but it is not required. WES may also be used to appeal a GPA decision from the Office of Admissions (international applicants only).
  • Transcripts emailed as PDFs directly to WVU from a university or ministry can be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
  • The Office of Admissions may make exceptions to the requirement for official transcripts in cases of war, civil unrest, or extenuating circumstances deemed out of the student’s control.
  • If you are affected by the U.S. State Department’s proclamation regarding restricted entry or “travel ban,” we encourage you to wait until the suspension is lifted to apply.

Before WVU can issue your student visa document (Form I-20 or DS-2019), you must provide proof that you have financial resources to cover your expenses while studying at WVU. For more on the student visa process, visit onboarding for international students and scholars.

International students are automatically enrolled in our student health plan unless a waiver has been submitted and approved. Information regarding the plan, enrollment information, waiver forms, etc., can be found at the Student Insurance Office.

Once you are admitted to WVU, the Office of Global Affairs offers support, programs, and activities to help you get involved on campus.
