Admissions and Program Requirements
for Transfer Students
Section Menu
You're considered a transfer student if you have completed any post-secondary (after high school) work at a regionally accredited institution.

Admissions Requirements
To be eligible to transfer to WVU, you must have at least a 2.0 GPA in all college work attempted. If you have fewer than 24 transferable credit hours, you must also meet freshman admission standards, though you may apply test optional.
Some programs have additional course requirements and higher GPA requirements. Review the program transfer requirements to see if yours is one of them.
If you have coursework from an institution without regional accreditation, you must request approval to have that credit count as Prior Learning Credit.
Program Requirements
Program requirements for students transferring to WVU are listed by college and school. If you’re not sure which college or school your major belongs to, check our academic program database.
