What are some things you would share with a student that they probably wouldn’t know about WVU?
WVU is an R1 institution. This means that we partake in some of the highest research activity in the country. Our faculty along with their students are re-writing history as they work together to find solutions for problems the rest of the world has deemed unsolvable. At WVU we have also paved the way in rural medicine by expanding the WVU Medicine brand throughout our state and region. Some of the world’s best physicians are right here in our system meeting our people where they are and providing the care they otherwise may not have found in their times of need.
What advice do you give to students who are preparing for college?
My best advice is to ask questions. Don’t be afraid to say what’s on your mind. For many students and families, this is their first college search. Make sure you’re getting the information you desire most. My job is to help guide you through your enrollment journey and if there are questions that I myself can’t answer, I can assure you that we will get you where you need to go. The best way to get answers is to ask, so make sure you aren’t afraid to do so. I’ll be here every step of the way to assist you on your journey!
