Where You’ll Learn and Discover
The Loulie, Valerie and William Canady Creative Arts Center
This is where College of Creative Arts students pursue their passions in art, design, music, theatre and dance. The Loulie, Valerie and William Canady Creative Arts Center has five performance areas and galleries for visual art exhibits, plus numerous classrooms, labs, shops and studios.
Located just off the main lobby of the Loulie, Valerie and William Canady Creative Arts Center, the Paul and Laura Mesaros Galleries feature exhibitions that focus on innovative, experimental art. Contemporary artists featured in the exhibits are invited to campus as part of the Visiting Artists Program to speak to classes, present a public lecture, and mentor art and design students.
Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre
The 1,444-seat Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre is the largest performance area in the Loulie, Valerie and William Canady Creative Arts Center. Many faculty, student and professional performers entertain at the Clay Theatre.
Art Museum of WVU
The Art Museum of WVU makes education, culture and creativity possible for students and community members of all ages. Two galleries present touring exhibitions as well as exhibitions drawn from the University’s collection of over 5,000 pieces. The Art Museum offers programming from gallery tours to interactive experiences and welcomes classrooms across campus to engage with art in their curriculum.
The College of Creative Arts is small enough to get one-on-one attention, but big enough to provide all the tools you need — like this well-stocked Ceramics Studio. WVU is one of only a few schools in the nation with a ceramics production line that brings student productions to the general public.
