New Student Orientation Basecamp is held at the WVU Outdoor Education Center, approximately 25 minutes from campus.

Check-in
9:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
NSO Basecamp check-in is at the WVU Outdoor Education Center:
1397 Chestnut Ridge Road
Bruceton Mills, WV 26525
Your family can drop you off at the OEC, or you can drive yourself.

Morning Activities
9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
- Welcome activities
- Program introduction and expectations
- Low Ropes Elements or hiking at Coopers Rock
Lunch
12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
All dietary restrictions are accommodated if they are reported during the registration process.
Afternoon Activities
1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Continuation of morning activities:
- Low Ropes
- Hiking at Coopers Rock
One of the following High Ropes Elements (with break and snack built in)
- Alpine Tower
- Giant Swing
- Odyssey
Downtime: Settle into spaces
6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Dinner
7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Campfire Discussion
8:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Student staff members will lead discussions about the transition to WVU and how to make the most of your NSO experience.
Downtime: Socialization
9:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
Lights Out
10:30 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.
Wake Up and Get Ready for NSO
6:30 a.m. - 7:30 a.m.
Wake up time is 6:30 a.m. A light breakfast will be provided.

Check out and travel to Morgantown
7:45 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.
Buses leave the Outdoor Education Center at 7:45 a.m. and travel to the WVU Coliseum, where you'll reunite with your family, organize your belongings and gather materials before continuing to NSO.
If you drove yourself to NSO Basecamp, follow the buses back to Morgantown and park at the WVU Coliseum.
You and your family will travel via bus from the WVU Coliseum to the Mountainlair Student Union for NSO check-in.
