Engineering Challenge Camps
June and July
At our weeklong day camps, students explore engineering through hands-on design challenges, teamwork, and creative problem-solving. They’ll build, test, and improve their ideas while learning how engineers shape the world around us.
Half-day camps are offered for elementary students. Full-day camps are offered for middle and high school students.
Best for: Grades 1-12
Nursing Day Camp
Saturday, June 6
Know a student interested in nursing? During the WVU School of Nursing’s 1-day camp, they’ll experience what nursing is really like. Students go to a mock lecture and work as nursing students in our state-of-the-art simulation lab. They’ll also attend an admissions presentation to learn more about majoring in nursing. Faculty, staff, and students will be present during the event! A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Experience Mining Engineering
June 10-12
Dig deeper into the world of mining with this immersive, FREE, 3-day camp designed for rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Campers will have the opportunity to tour mining operations, unlock the science behind mineral extracting and processing, and discover careers in a high demand engineering discipline.

Explore the Magic of Pharmacy

Sign up your student for an immersive, theme park-inspired adventure where science meets imagination. From developing vaccine plans and stopping antibiotic resistance, to compounding veterinary medications and designing kid-friendly treatments, campers will experience hands-on activities that showcase the many exciting paths within pharmacy. Along the way, they’ll practice patient communication, medication safety, and innovation while discovering how pharmacists protect communities and shape the future of healthcare.

Visual Arts Residential Camp
June 14-19
Students can attend the Residential Camp for an immersive art experience on the WVU campus. Under faculty guidance, participants explore multiple art disciplines, develop their skills, and experience campus life, culminating in a student art exhibit and social celebration.
Best for: Grades 8-12
Mining Virtual Camps
June 15-17 and June 18-19
These free, virtual camps allow students to explore mining engineering topics from home. Choose between 2 topics: Mining and Explosives or Space Mining!
Best for: Middle and high school students
Forestry and Wood Magic
June 22-26
Join the WVU Davis College of Agriculture and Natural Resources to explore the world of the woods! Forestry and Wood Magic camp is an educational experience full of fun and hands-on activities.
Students will learn from WVU foresters, ecologists, and wood scientists how to identify tree species, explore how forests grow and thrive, follow the journey from tree to sustainable products, and more! It’s the perfect opportunity for students passionate about nature, sustainability, and shaping a greener future.

Percussion Academy

The WVU Summer Percussion Academy at the WVU Canady Creative Arts Cente provides a rich and engaging experience for high school percussionists. The academy offers intensive, weeklong instruction in percussion ensemble repertoire and techniques

Visual Arts Day Camp

The WVU Visual Arts Summer Academy Day Camp offers full-day studio art workshops with all supplies provided, allowing students to explore their creativity in a fun, hands-on environment.

Summer Dance Academy

WVU Dance welcomes returning dancers, parents, and newcomers to the 16th Summer Dance Academy, offering a week of classes with skilled faculty and guests. This year we continue our partnership with the Paul Taylor Dance Company, with classes and presentations on his work and legacy.
