How do I apply for a scholarship?

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply for a scholarship?

You apply for most WVU scholarships by completing an application for undergraduate admission. Freshmen and transfer students are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships if admitted by August 1 for the start of the fall semester, or January 2 for spring. You will be notified if you qualify.

Additionally, we accept updated test scores and GPA calculations until the merit deadline (August 1 for fall and January 2 for spring).

For freshmen, GPA is not automatically updated. Once admitted, students must request a GPA update. Test scores delivered by the testing center and received by the deadlines are automatically updated.

For transfer students, WVU Admissions will continually update the GPA through receipt of all final college transcripts. These updates may impact scholarship awards.
