The College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences encompasses the following areas of study for undergraduate and graduate students at WVU:
Department of Coaching and Teaching
- Athletic Coaching Education
- Physical Education Teacher Education
- Basic Instruction (non-degree, PE courses offered to the WVU student body)
- New: Personal Trainer Minor, Group Fitness Instructor Minor
Department of Sport Studies
Baccalaureate degree programs offered in the College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences include teacher certification in Physical Education, Athletic Coaching, and Sport Studies with emphasis in Sport Management and Sport Behavior (psychology/sociology).The College's Master's degree program allows specialization in Physical Education Teacher Education, Athletic Training, Athletic Coaching, Sport and Exercise Psychology, or Sport Management; leading to a Master of Science degree in Physical Education.
The Ph.D. in Kinesiology offered by the College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences has two major areas: Sport and Exercise Psychology and Physical Education Teacher Education.
