How do I get a refund on my academic deposit?

Your academic deposit is fully refundable if you formally cancel your WVU attendance by December 1 for spring term enrollment and **May 1 for fall term enrollment. You can cancel by following the steps on the Cancel Your Attendance page.

If you paid the deposit by credit card, the refund will not be credited to your credit card; you will be issued a refund check within 4-6 weeks.

**Due to the late release of the 2024-2025 FAFSA, we have extended the deadline to June 1 for academic and housing deposit refunds for first-time students. You must cancel your WVU application or attendance using the cancellation form by June 1 for a full refund of the academic deposit and/or a partial refund of the housing deposit. Deposits are forfeited if cancelling after June 1.
