Register for NSO
Register for NSO now. Your experience will include:

Self-paced, online modules.
You’ll start with online modules that cover everything you need to know, from academics and student services to accessing your student account and technology resources.

Advising follow-up.
After completing the online modules, you’ll receive an email on how to set up an advising appointment with a professional adviser from your school/college to create your class schedule.

In-person program.
When registering, you will select a date to visit us on campus for orientation. The in-person event will help you learn about campus and provide the opportunity to receive on-the-spot answers to your questions.

NSO
One Day
NSO is a one-day program for incoming freshman students and their families.
What you'll do
- Explore campus at your own pace.
- Meet other incoming Mountaineers, including students from your major or residence hall
- Hear from all the experts (housing, dining, financial aid, etc.) before moving in this fall.
Cost: Included in your NSO fee
NSO Basecamp
Two Day
NSO Basecamp is an optional outdoor experience the day before your NSO program. When you register, you’ll be signing up for both NSO and NSO Basecamp.
What you'll do
- Make the most of your visit by adding a second day of programming.
- Sessions have approximately 20 students – the perfect atmosphere for building friendships.
- You’ll have fun, explore your environment and be better prepared for your college transition.
Cost: an additional $35

The $35 will be billed to your WVU student account. If you're Pell Grant eligible, the charge will be refunded if you attend your NSO Basecamp program.
Interested in Honors programming?
If you’re accepted into the Honors College, you have the option of attending one of three Honors-only NSO days (June 12, 16 and 26). Honors events follow the same schedule but include added opportunities to interact with Honors College staff and students.
